Volunteer Opportunities
Office Volunteers
We’re often in need of volunteers to help with a variety of jobs in the church office. Some jobs include answering phones, proofreading, folding the Sunday bulletin, photocopying, and shredding.
First Impressions Team
Members of the First Impressions team are dedicated to welcoming guests and visitors to Riverside.
Greeters & Ushers – Greet new people and old friends with warmth and welcome, and provide gifts to newcomers and activity bags to children.
Coffee Fellowship Team – Help set up our delicious breakfast table and prepare coffee on Sunday mornings.
Hospitality Team
Members of the hospitality team know that feeding the body is just as important as feeding the soul. They do everything from organizing potlucks to preparing and serving meals for special events. One of their most vital roles is caring for families after funeral services. They take great love and care in planning and preparing meals and showering compassion upon the bereaved in their time of need.
Prayer Ministries
Sunday Morning Prayer Team meets in the Church Sanctuary every Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. to pray over the entire church building.
Prayer List – Receive prayer concerns from the congregation every week and pray for them on your own.
Children/Youth Ministries
Teachers/Helpers for Sunday School – Sunday mornings, curriculum provided. Classes for PreK thru 12th grade. No experience needed.
Children Ministry Volunteers – Assist leaders in Bible study and/or dramatic worship activities at our Wednesday Night ‘Alive’ program.
Youth Leaders – Assist Youth Director in youth ministry activities. Help lead Life Groups and go on mission trips.
Music Ministries
Joyful Noise Bell Choir – This dynamic group is lead by Don Wood and meets for practice every Wednesday night from 6:00-7:00 p.m., September through May. Joyful Noise performs on the fourth Sunday of the month for the Cornerstone service.
Cornerstone Chancel Choir – The Cornerstone Chancel Choir offers worship through song September through May for our Cornerstone Traditional Worship service, as well as seasonal performances. The music offered by the Chancel Choir each Sunday ranges from late Renaissance through the 21st Century. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. New members are always welcome.
Fusion Praise Team – As the name implies, the Fusion Praise Team offers a soul-stirring, Spirit-led fusion of praise and worship for our Fusion Contemporary Worship service, as well as seasonal performances. The praise team leads worship year-round every Sunday with music ranging Chris Tomlin Zach Williams to Tasha Cobb and Elevation, and even the occasional old school hymn. They rehearse on Saturdays at 10:30 am. They are looking for vocalists and volunteer musicians.
Technology Ministries
This is a behind-the-scenes ministry utilizing audio operators, video and projection operators, and web designers and programmers. Training will be provided as needed for technology currently in use. Contact our tech director, Steve Mixson, if interested in this ministry.

Serve wholeheartedly.
Christian Care
Hear God’s calling or donate some hygienic items. Every small thing that you do is counted!
Pastoral Care Team
We make sure that all the members of Riverside feel connected to our family by sharing Christ’s love with our shut ins. Anyone with a heart for older people can be a great addition to our pastoral care ministry.
We visit those who can no longer attend worship on their own and deliver bulletins, newsletters, recordings of worship, and tokens of love. We also make cards, blankets, and assorted gifts.
